This is the latest version of the Windows operating system with a new user interface and other new features such as the new Microsoft Store, a new personalized feed powered by AI and the better browser performance of Microsoft Edge, the integrated taskbar. chat from Microsoft Teams and much more!
What’s new in Windows 11:
– Windows 11 gets a completely new design. Microsoft clearly needs a good reason to withdraw its previous claims and abandon Windows 10 by introducing a new operating system number. And a completely new design is ideal for this. The Redmond giant has long been preparing a redesign for an update called Sun Valley (“Sun Valley”) – apparently, under this name it was Windows 11. The Sun Valley project has long flashed on the network – Microsoft has provided regular updates. The new interface style became known, insiders shared previously unknown information, and popular designers in their circles drew realistic concepts based on all this data. – Start and system elements will float above the bottom bar. Start is the business card and face of every current version of Windows. Not surprisingly, developers will redesign it again in Windows 11, but not so much in a functional sense as in a visual sense: the Start window will float above the bottom bar. It must be admitted that this small change makes the look of the system much fresher. According to information from the Internet, Microsoft will not radically change the “interior” of this menu – innovations will only affect the design of the window itself. The control panel will also float and its design will be exactly the same as that of the “Startup”. The Action Center is merged with the control keys – a similar key has long been used in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it will be an island: control buttons will be on a separate bar, notifications on another, and some elements (like a player) on another separate bar.
– Right angles will disappear and will be replaced by curves. In truth, insiders and designers disagree on this – some are convinced that Microsoft will not change its traditions and will keep right angles, while others are convinced that Microsoft will follow the fashion for fillets in 2021. The latter better fits the definition of “all-new Windows”: floating menus are not enough for a new design to be considered truly new. Fillets should affect almost everything in the system, from context menus and system panels to all application windows. Designers’ opinions also differ on this issue: some draw fillets in all sorts of interface elements, others combine them with right angles.
– There will be a translucent background with blur everywhere. There are disagreements on the web about the island style of the showcase, the design of the corners and the floating effect of the menu, but almost everyone agrees on the transparency of the windows. The vast majority of leaks and design renders show transparency and blur in all windows, be it at least the Start menu or Explorer. Moreover, these effects are even included in the assembly of the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft developed in parallel with the Sun Valley project for dual-screen devices and weak gadgets. The so-called acrylic transparency implies the use of new effects when hovering over elements, as well as increased spacing between elements – the areas of the interface with which the user interacts certainly become larger, and the page titles become thicker.
– New font already displayed. Windows 11 will most likely use the default responsive font Segoe UI Variable, which already appears in Windows 10 Build 21376 for Insiders. Its advantage is that it is suitable for both small texts and large labels.
