Inquiry Based Learning Method
Green Gems International School applies Inquiry Based learning method from Grade-1 to 5.
Inquiry-based learning gives our students the opportunity to develop stronger relationships with their classmates, improve their communication skills and increase the confidence they have in their own ideas and ability to contribute in the classroom. Inquiry-based learning motivate our students to learn and advance their problem solving and critical thinking skills. Our students can expose by this inquiry-based learning as it gives the opportunity to nurture their talents and passions. They take control of their learning during the unit of work being taught. Students have the freedom to be driven by their own curiosity for learning.
Inquiry education is a student-centered method of education focused on asking questions. By this learning our students can understand the problem, make a plan, carry out the plan and look back and reflect. Inquiry skills are used to ask questions, research, interpret, share, and reflect on answers. The process helps students apply and use higher order thinking skills like analysis and synthesis. Inquiry skills help foster curiosity, develop critical thinking, and encourage independent thinking. Through this inquiry based learning our students engage in research around interesting ideas and essential questions.
Our purpose of this inquiry and research is to encourage students for high levels of critical thinking so that processes and resources are appropriate, conclusions are based on supporting evidence and problems are solved and decisions made that will extend learning for their lifetime.
