Cambridge Secondary Program

The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme provides a natural progression for children from primary education and builds on and develops their knowledge and skills with a special focus in Mathematics, English and Science.

Cambridge Upper Secondary (IGCSE) is the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14-16 year olds, leading to globally recognized and valued Cambridge IGCSE qualifications.  Over 9000 schools worldwide teach it, including more than 650 in the UK. Almost 5,00,000 entries each year from 144 countries.

Cambridge IGCSE

Cambridge ICE is the group award of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and requires the study of subjects drawn from the five different IGCSE subject groups. It gives schools the opportunity to benefit from offering a broad and balanced curriculum by recognising the achievements of students who pass examinations in at least seven subjects, including two languages, and one subject from each of the other subject groups.

At Key Stage 4, students at Endaze begin to specialise more. English Language and Literature, Maths, Science, Spanish Language and Literature, Sociales, Physical education and RE/citizenship continue to be compulsory subjects, but students can also choose three additional subjects: Geography, Music, German, Drama, Art & Design, Computer Science and History.

In all these subjects (except for Physical education, Sociales and RE/Citizenship) they start a 2 year preparation for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams which are taken at the end of Year 11 (May-June). At the end of Year 11, students will choose the subjects which they wish to study for A Level in the Sixth Form.

Cambridge schools worldwide have helped develop Cambridge IGCSE, which provides excellent preparation for the Cambridge Advanced stage including Cambridge International AS/A Levels and Cambridge Pre-U, as well as other progression routes. It incorporates the best in international education for learners at this level. It develops in line with changing needs, and is regularly updated and extended. Cambridge IGCSE teachers can draw on excellent resources, training and advice from subject experts.

Cambridge International is pleased to offer an exciting competition for Cambridge IGCSE and O Level learners. We want to give learners the opportunity to develop their passion for science through practical work, investigating topics of interest and using the scientific method. We also want to promote the attributes of a Cambridge learner through collaboration and communication, promoting innovation and creativity.

What is Cambridge Global Perspectives?

Cambridge Global Perspectives is a unique, transformational programme that helps students at every stage of school education develop outstanding transferable skills, including critical thinking, research and collaboration.

This innovative and stimulating skills-based programme places academic study in a practical, real-world context. It gives students aged 5 to 19 years the opportunity to develop the skills that they need to be successful at school and university as well as in their future careers.

The programme taps into the way today’s students enjoy learning, including group work, seminars, projects and working with other students around the world. The emphasis is on developing students’ ability to think critically about a range of global issues where there is always more than one point of view.
