Plot
Hellboy and newcomer B.P.R.D. An agent in the 1950s is sent to the Appalachians, where they discover a remote community ruled by witches and led by the sinister local demon Crooked Man. "Hellboy: The Twisted Man" attempts to bring the iconic character’s world to life, but faces serious challenges that prevent it from reaching the heights of Guillermo del Toro’s films. The low budget doesn’t do enough to capture the grandeur and complexity of Hellboy’s world, resulting in a fairly limited effort overall. It looks like they tried to reboot Harry Potter with a budget equivalent to an episode of the average CW show.
Another weakness is the supporting cast
Although the production team obviously tried to iron out the flaws, it was a difficult task. The acting is weak and often unconvincing, even less realistic and scarier than the roles in Power Rangers. However, Jack Kesey as Hellboy is one of the few positives. I hope this role opens doors for him, because it’s one of the few things that really works in the movie.

The makeup and special effects also look cheap and uninspired, failing to create an immersive experience and struggling to create a creepy atmosphere. On the other hand, the atmosphere of the film, while limited, is a positive aspect, along with the soundtrack of haunting tunes that add to the dark and mystical tone the film is going for. However, the sound editing, especially the jumping, is too over the top. "Hellboy: The Crooked Man" is a film that struggles to capture the essence of a complex universe with limited resources, resulting in a film that feels more like a fan-made project than a true reimagining of the character.
