Plot

Never has the gap between my expectations and the actual impact of a film been so great
The possibilities were so great with a cast of two of the greatest actors of our time – and even they couldn’t make the film have soul. The lyrics and soundtrack were completely forgettable, although Pugh and Garfield gave great performances with what was available to them.
Both characters fell very smoothly and I felt very little emotional investment in them
The back and forth timeline made for an incomplete emotional journey as there was no build up or stakes to invest in. I had such high hopes and was counting down the days to this movie and was terribly disappointed when I walked out of the screening.
Here’s hoping someone brings them together in a future movie and gives them a better chance to create a masterpiece
