An up and coming chef and a young divorcee find their lives changed forever when a chance encounter brings them together, in a deeply moving romance that spans a decade. Director John Crowley also directed Andrew Garfield in Garfield’s feature film debut, Boy A (2007). Honestly one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time, I thought it was just a romantic comedy but no, it’s so much more than that, I’ve never cried through an entire movie but this movie was something else, for the entire 2 hours I was at a loss for words.
Once I started watching I got into the story because of the non-chronological timeline which I know a lot of people didn’t like but that’s why I felt this movie. I watched it with my friend and it’s something we never usually watch. The last time we watched a movie was the new bad boys.
I picked this movie and she had no idea what it was about. I knew from the trailer that came out 3 months ago. But for me, I was shocked at how good it was, beyond my expectations.
I still think about the movie and I feel like I will continue to think about it in the future. The only movie that reminds me of Eternal Sunshine because of its very beautiful real-life love story and non-linear timeline, even though there are very different reasons for the timeline to be shown in both movies. This movie will have a special place in my heart for years to come.
